From Lulu’s Point of View
Acts was doing the U-Turn, a month of prayer and fasting. And although I was still attending FGA, I decided that I would join them too. Alex suggested that we break fast together, on Easter Sunday, and I agreed! (thinking back, now I notice how Alex was really keen and getting way excited about the ‘breaking fast’ together, and actually gave quite a few sms-reminders!)
On Easter Sunday, he picked me up for dinner, and started driving to Tamarind Springs. Noticing that he seem to know the way fairly well, I asked if he has been there, to which he replied “I haven’t eaten there before”. Well, I should’ve taken more notice to his choice of words!
We ordered, and food was really slow in coming. While waiting, Alex, wanting to write me a poem, requested for a serviette. I got a bit interested at this point. (I tried hard glancing at the last sentence though!) False alarm. It was just a super sweet poem about me lah! At this point, I heard a thud. And I thought it was his cell phone that fell. (Till today he still laughs about it, as he claims the phone was just right beside him on the table when I asked that).
The food still really hasn’t arrived at this point, and Alex excused himself to check on it. Coming back about 15 minutes later, he surprised me by appearing in a different outfit! (At this point I was really, really surprised) Wearing a t-shirt with a picto-story on it, he handed me my version of the t-shirt… that completes the ‘story’! Read me a (nother) poem! And proposed with the ring! I was totally shocked!!! Not only have we started going out for only 5 months, he had gone all out to plan the entire proposal, down pat to having Evan film the entire evening for our keepsake.
I said YES. And the ring is a perfect fit!
